Chennai: Australian ace fast bowler Peter Siddle is expecting Sachin Tendulkar to come hard on their bowling, especially after going through lots of recent failures in international cricket.
He said, “If Sachin gets into the groove in this series, then Aussie pace attack stand no chance. In Australia, almost a year-back, we were up to the mark to get him out as early as possible and that emerged as the deciding factor in the final outcome of that series.”
Siddle has been mesmerized with his batting performance over the years. He said, “He is having a terrific record. The number of centuries and half-centuries he had scored just makes me wonder how passionate Tendulkar is for cricket. It was wonderful feeling to get him as my first Test wicket, way back in 2008 when he was batting on 80-odd at Mohali.”
But there is one thing that has shifted Siddle’s focus from Tendulkar and that is the conditions in India which are going to be very tough. Pitches will be play a deciding role in this four-match Test series
Bunch of new fast bowlers in Mitchell Starc, James Pattinson and Jackson Bird has given him a role of mentor in the current Australian side. He said, "I want to share my experience with these young bowlers and I would love to give them what I have learnt from the likes of Brett Lee, Stuart Clark and Mitchell Johnson.”
"It will be a hard fought series. We would love to come on top of Indians in this series and would like to stamp our authority on Indian soil. People say Ashes is the focus of our team but that's not the case now, as all players are focused to do well in this big series," Siddle said.
