Shenzhen: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal went down to Denmark’s Tine Baun 14-21 21-11 19-21 in her first Group B women’s singles match in the year-ending Superseries Finals at Shenzhen, China.
The Olympic bronze medallist fought hard before going down fighting in 51 minutes. This was Baun’s first ever win over the fourth seeded Indian after losing last four matches against her.
Saina lost the first game but came back strongly to win the second. Both players were neck to neck in the final game but Baun held her nerves better to win the contest.
