Hyderabad: Hiken Shah and Rohit Sharma scored unbeaten tons to help Mumbai pile 325-2 against Hyderabad on the opening day of their Group A Ranji Trophy match here on Saturday.
Hiken was batting on 154 off 260 balls laced with 17 boundaries while Rohit hit nine boundaries and three sixes in his unconquered 102 off 161 deliveries knock at the end of day’s play.
Electing to bat first Mumbai got off to shaky start and lost opener Kaustubh Pawar for cheap.
It was then Hiken and wicket-keeper Aditya Tare (62) who joined forces and took control of the situation.They put a 121-run second wicket partnership before Tare unfortunately ran him out.
His wicket brought Rohit to the crease and both the batsmen seemed at perfect ease against the Hyderabadi bowlers and stitched an unbeaten 203-run partnership for the third wicket.
