Ahmedabad: England cricket team captain Alastair Cook said that his team will be looking to put India under pressure in the first Test scheduled to start on Nov. 15 at Ahmedabad.
Cook said that there is always a lot of pressure on the home team, Indian team has excellent home record and out job will be to put them under pressure.
Cook said that they wanted to get used to the conditions and said that playing three practice games was good; he said that they would have liked to face more spinners.
On negotiating Indian spinners, Cook said that his team is ready and that was one of the major reasons why they came three weeks in advance.
He said that his team can always deal with Indian bowling attack.
On the Ahmedabad pitch, Cook said that the pitch looked quite dry, but said they tend to change a lot in 24 or 48 hours.
On his first match as captain, he said that he is excited and a bit nervous too. Cook said that he is proud to be leading the English team and will try to do his best, he said that he wouldn’t be doing anything different from what he has been doing in one-dayers.
On Kevin Pietersen’s return, he said that it is great to have him back in the team as he is a world-class batsman.
