Greater Noida: Even though Felipe Massa did not have the best of the season in F1 this year, he feels that things have started to get better and hopes that his coming season with Ferrari will be more fruitful.
Massa whose only podium finish of the year came in the Japanese Grand Prix said that with four races to go in this season including the Indian Grand Prix, he wants to end the year on a high.
“It was not the best of the seasons for me but then last two races bore good results for me (2nd in Japan & 4th in Korea). I am hoping for some good results in the remaining races which will help me in the next season,” Massa told the reporters ahead of the weekend’s Indian Grand Prix.
Massa who has been extended a one year contract extension at the Ferrari in-spite of his below performance with the Italian outfits said that he is really forward to next year.
“It has been seven years with Ferrari now and I know that I am not as young now but I am looking to race with them for one more year. I hope to do well in the next season,” said Massa.
Talking about the India Grand Prix, he said, ““I didn’t have the great race here last year, but this year I am determined to do better,” he said.
The Brazilian driver said that the race is of great significance to him because last year he had to retire mid-way with a broken left suspension after kissing too much of the kerb on Turn 8 of the track. The organisers later named the kerb as ‘Massa Kerb.’
“I hope the Massa kerb serves well for me in future,” he said in a lighter vein.
“I like the lay-out of this circuit. It’s a nice track to drive. It has interesting, high speed corners. I don’t think Buddh circuit is different than Korea,” he said.
