Yuvraj Singh picked in India A team against England

Yuvraj picked in India A team against EnglandMumbai: Star Indian left-hander Yuvraj Singh is included in India A side that will play against England at Mumbai on October 30 in the first practice match.

Yuvraj Singh recently made a fabulous 208 for the North Zone in the Duleep Trophy match against Central Zone and it was expected that he will be picked for the India A team. Yuvraj earlier was picked for the India T20 squad for New Zealand and then the ICC T20 World Cup. Yuvraj has played all the matches since he was selected in the team.

Two slots have opened up in the Indian Test squad after the retirement of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Cheteshwar Pujara played well against the Kiwis and is most likely to keep his place at number three, number six spot is up for grabs because Suresh Raina’s performance against New Zealand was not good.

There is no spinner in the 14 member Indian team. The reason for that could be that Indian selectors do not want to expose the Indian spinners in front of the English batsmen.

Suresh Raina is the captain of the team and Wriddhiman Saha will be the man behind the wicket. Shikhar Dhawan, Robin Bist, Ashok Menaria are in the squad because of their good run in the domestic circuit.

India A Squad:

Suresh Raina (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, M Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Abhinav Mukund, Manoj Tiwary, Robin Bist, Ashok Menaria, Yuvraj Singh, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Vinay Kumar, Parvinder Awana, Irfan Pathan, Ashok Dinda.
