Cape Town: The match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Yorkshire was called off as rain played spoilsport again in the Champions League T20 here.
Mumbai Indians were on 156 for six from 17.5 overs with Keiron Pollard and Mitchell Johnson at the crease when rain forced the match to be abandoned.
Sent in to bat first, Mumbai Indians did not have best of the starts and lost Sachin Tendulkar for cheap. A 36 runs second partnership between Dwayne Smith (37) and Rohit Sharma (25) saw Mumbai recover well, but then lost wickets at the flurry to let Yorkshire back in the match.
With five down for 109, Keiron Pollard came to the party at last and played a fluent innings to put Mumbai on course of a huge total. He was unbeaten on 37 off 20 balls, when the rain stopped play.
The West Indian smashed three fours and two sixes in his knock.
For Yorkshire, spinners Adil Rashid and Azeem Rafiq took two wickets each.
