New Delhi: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal who has been away from since her bronze medal winning feat at the London Olympics will make a comeback in the Denmark Open Super Series Badminton Championship from Tuesday.
Saina who has been busy with felicitations ceremonies for her success at the Olympics has missed out on China Masters, Japan Open and the Senior National Championships during her break will also play in France following Denmark.
Saina who is ranked fourth in the World enter the tournament as third seeded player. She will take on Korean Yeon Ju Bae in the first round and does she goes through she is likely to face local favourite Tine Baun in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile in the men’s competition , Sourabh Verma will take on former World number 1 Peter Gade , while Ajay Jayaram will be up against Pengyu Du of China.
Ashwini Ponnappa will team up with Tarun Kona in the mixed doubles competition and will be kick-off their campaign against Indonesian combo of Markis Kido and Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth.
In men’s doubles, Tarun will pair with Arun Vishnu and meet Indonesian pair of Angga Pratama and Ryan Agung Saputra.
