Tokyo: Top seeded pair of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek crashed to a shocking straight sets defeat at the hands of Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares in the finals of the ATP Japan Open here today.
The Indo-Czech pair lost 6-3, 7-6 (5) to the fourth seeded Austrian-Brazilian duo in the match that lasted for one hour and 46 minutes.
Paes and Stepanek who were bidding for their third title of the season however have booked first team berth at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London next week, after finishing runners up.
