Chess Olympiad: Indian eves rout Estonia, men heldIstanbul, (Turkey): Indian International Master Tania Sachdev maintained her good run and clinched her sixth win in seven games to help India beat Estonia 3- in the 40th Chess Olympiad here.

The victory has now taken India to joint fourth position after the seventh round.After losing in the fifth round Tania came back strong and now has two back to back wins.

Tania defeated Tajana Formina, whereas D. Harika got better of Monika Tsiganova and Mary Ann Gomes routed Triin Narva on the third board.

Only setback for India was Soumya Swaminathan who lost to Regina Narva on the top board to concede a point.

Indian eves now have 11 points and are tied fourth with Spain, France, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Hungary and Vietnam. 

Contrary to the women’s team, Indian men as they were held by Argentina.

Abhijeet Gupta won against Sandeo Marceo, whereas Krishnan Sasikiran and Harikrishna drew there match against respective opponents.

Parimarjan Negi had a disappointing outing as he lost his match conceding a point.
