: India A bowlers wrecked havoc against West Indies ‘A’ to thrash West Indies A by 108 runs in the second of the three unofficial one day here yesterday.

Chasing a target a modest target of 184, Windies proved to be no match for Indian bowlers and were bundled out for a paltry 76 in just 27.1 overs. India now have leveled the series 1-1.

India’s batting which has proved to be an agony for them in the whole tour let them down again and failed to get off to a good start. Indian opening duo Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane who were very impressive in the Indian Premier League for their respective teams were bundled out for cheap once again.

Dhawan scored 19 whereas Rahane could manage only 9. It was Rohit Sharma’s 39 and Jalaj Saxena 35 that helped India to a decent score. For West Indies, Jason Holder was the pick of the bowler returning with figures of 40-3 in 10 overs. Even though India lost wickets at regular interval they still managed to play out their whole quota of 50 overs.

Coming on to bat, the Carribean got off to a horrible start and lost two wickets with the score-board reading just one.

They just could recover from their and they lost wickets in flurry to bundled out in 27.1 overs. Five of their batsmen were out for duck with Jason Mohammed (26) emerging as the highest scorer of the match

For India left-arm spinner Akshay Darekar was the wrecker-in-chief, scalping four wickets for just 17 runs in 6.1 overs.

He was supported by Saxena and the pace attack duo of Ashok Dinda and Bhuvneshwar Kumar grabbing two wickets apiece. Saxena was adjudged as man of the match for his all round performance.

The next match is scheduled to be played on Sunday.
