St George’s: India A’s torrid time in the Caribbean continues as they lost the first 1st unofficial ODI against the West Indies A side by two wickets. The match which turned out to be a low scoring went down to the last over and in the end it was the West Indies A tail-enders that sealed the match for the home team. Veerasammy Permaul and Nikita Miller put together a partnership of 35 runs win the first match of the one day series.
India A, winning the toss, could muster only 190 off 49.5 overs in the first of their three-match One-Day series against West Indies A at the National Stadium here.
Ajinkya Rahane, who had a poor 'Test' series regained some form to top-score with 58 while Shikhar Dhawan made 30. After their departure, only Manoj Tiwari and Jalaj Saxena got into the 20s.
Veerasammy Permaul, who returned to lead West Indies A after missing the two-match twenty20 series, was the most successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 28 runs, while Jason Holder (2/30) and Jonathan Carter (2/41) bowled well with the new ball.
West Indies A chasing a below par total played cautiously but continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. For India, the T20 hero Ashok Dinda once again bowled well and he was the reason the match went down to the last over, he was well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the part time spinner Rohit Sharma.
