Kolkata: Wild card local entrant Yubrani Banerjee entered the pre-quarter finals of the girls singles event at the ongoing International Tennis Federation (ITF) Juniors meet held at the red clay courts of the Dakshin Kalikata Sansad here on Monday.
Banerjee, who reached the quarter-finals here last year also, did not sweat much to brush Sharannya Gaware aside by a straight 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 24 minutes.

Another wild card from Bengal, Arghya Das in boys singles did not live up to the expectations, as he went down fighting against Nikit Reddy from the Unites States 5-7, 3-6.
