The Indo-Chinese pair took a nice start as they broke early to claim a lead of 2-1. But their slow service put them on back-foot as Barty and Casey got the better off them.

Zheng was struggling to get into the groove, and making a good use of that the Aussies broke her serve repeatedly. Sania was finding it hard to bear the pressure as their counterpart took the lead of 4-2 and eventually with couple of unforced errors from Zheng, they handed over the opening set to the number eighth seed pair.

The second set went in the same way as the first set. Mirza-Zheng did lead take a 2-1 lead, but the number eighth seed pair were in no mood to allow this 10th seed to dominate them and with their counter-attack, they broke the serve of Zheng for one more time in this one-sided affair.

The Aussies could potentially play Venus and Serena Williams in the final, who are scheduled to play the other semifinal on Friday against No. 4 seeds Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka of Czech Republic.
