•    Rohit Sharma was the fifth bowler to take an IPL hat-trick and was awarded the best U-23 player in the tournament's 2nd edition.

•    He is the sixth cricketer to score two centuries in the Ranji Trophy final, a feat last achieved by Sachin Tendulkar and four others which he did in 2008-09 Ranji final.

•    He won the Man-of-the-Series against West Indies in 2011.

•    In 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in the semifinals his knock brought him Man of the Match.

Rohit Sharma is an Indian right handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. He did a good job in Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006 which brought him to play for Indian team in World Twenty20 campaign in 2007 and CB series in Australia, scoring two fifties, including a vital 66 in the first final in Sydney. He was bought for US$ 7,50,000 by Deccan Chargers in the IPL and made 404 runs at an average 36.73 including four fifties.
He made his debut as a List A player for West Zone against Central Zone in Deodhar Trophy in March 2006 at Gwalior. He came to the limelight when he scored 142 off 123 balls against North Zone at Udaipur in the same tournament.

He made his First-class debut for India A against New Zealand A at Darwin in July 2006. He played first Ranji Trophy for his first-class side Mumbai in 2006/07 season. In the final's against Bengal, he scored 50 which helped his team to win the tournament.
Sharma made his ODI debut for India against Ireland in 2007. He came to lime light when he scored unbeaten 50 off just 40 balls against South Africa in 2007 ICC World Twenty20 which took India to the semifinals. And there he played a good knock to take his team to 153-5 from 61-4 at one stage with M. S. Dhoni. He was given Man of the Match for his performance. Sharma scored his maiden ODI half-century against Pakistan, at Jaipur on 18 November, 2007 and this performance made selectors to take him in the Indian 16-man squad for the CB series in Australia. In CB series, he scored 235 runs at an average of 33.57 with two fifties. In Ranji Trophy 2009, he scored a triple century. He scored his maiden ODI century 114 runs against Zimbabwe on May 28, 2010. Though he was dropped from the Indian squad for 2011 World Cup, he was selected for West Indies tour 2011 because of many senior players being given rest or suffering from injuries. In the first ODI, he scored 68 not out off 75 balls which made him Man of the Match. In 3rd ODI, he scored a match winning 86 off 91 balls against West Indies. Through his excellent performances in the series he won the Man of the Match. In the series against West Indies in 2011, he won the Man of the Series award in the ODIs. He is known for being electrifying on the field.
