Raninder Singh re-elected as president of NRAI

Logo NRAINew Delhi: Raninder Singh was re-elected unopposed as President of the National Rifle Association of India. This was announced during the General Body Meeting held at Hotel Raj Hans, Suraj Kund by Justice Mehtab Singh Gill (Retd) on Saturday. Raninder Singh is holding this post since  December 29, 2010.

D V S Rao was elected new Secretary General of the National Rifle Association of India. He was also elected unopposed for this post. D V S Rao was earlier holding the post of Joint Secretary General of NRAI.

Meanwhile, Avtar Singh, senior most member of the Governing Body was also elected unopposed as Senior Vice President. Baljit Singh Sethi will continue as Advisor of the National Rifle Association of India.

All the office bearers and members of Governing Body except Hony Secretaries were elected unopposed. The election for Hony Sectaries were conducted by secret ballot and six Hony Secretaries were elected by the House. The proceedings of the House were conducted in presence of Radhica Sreeman, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India, a Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Observer.

The General Body also nominated following seven eminent personalities for their contribution for the promotion of shooting sport in India

1.      Raja Randhir Singh – Life President

2.      Dr. B S Adityan – Life President

3.      Prof Sunny Thomas – Vice Life President

4.      Shri Navin Jindal, MP – Patron – in – Chief  

5.      Shri Jagjit Singh – Patron

6.      Col Jaswant Singh – Chairman Emeritus

7.      Shri T S Dhillon – Vice Chairman Emeritus
