Kings XI Punjab supports World Immunization week by sporting ‘Shot4Life’ wristbands

New Delhi: With the intent to bring about a change in the society, Kings XI Punjab, a community driven team announces the ‘Shot4Life’ campaign in order to mark the World Immunization week starting April 24 - April 30, 2015. Immunization is one of the world’s most powerful tools to protect children against preventable diseases.

Kings XI Punjab will spread awareness regarding immunization through an extensive digital campaign ‘Shot4Life’ for the duration of the week and the team players, support staff and management will wear special red #shot4life wristbands during their matches against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrises Hyderabad on April 25 and April 27, respectively.

The campaign is designed to raise awareness about the need for immunization in order to prevent childhood diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhoea and polio among others.

Commenting on the announcement, Promoters of Kings XI Punjab said, "In a year, India loses approximately 13 lakh children below five years to diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhoea and polio. These diseases can be prevented by vaccines that are not currently accessible to the poorest sections of our society. The benefits of vaccines go beyond just the survival of children in India. Vaccines can allow children to lead a healthy life by not just boosting immunity but also improving mental abilities. At Kings XI Punjab, we are proud to do an encore to last year's #shot4life campaign and urge each individual join our endeavour and spread the message."

To drive the message further, #shot4life wristbands will also be distributed to fans before home matches at PCA Stadium, Mohali, and at various locations throughout Chandigarh to promote the importance of immunization.
