Rauf admits photos with Leena Kapoor his but denies relationship with model, says his lawyers will deal with the allegations

The Versova police on Wednesday registered the statement of model Leena Kapoor after she forwarded an application alleging that International Cricket Council (ICC) elite panel umpire Asad Rauf had had a relationship with her but denied the same later on, says a report in Hindustan Times.
The model had submitted an application to the zonal deputy commissioner of police Pratap Dighavkar on Monday stating the same following which the Versova police was directed to record her statement. Meanwhile, Kapoor claimed that she had received several threat calls since Tuesday after she first approached police.

“Since Tuesday, I received at least 12 calls from two different numbers of Mumbai and Delhi. The unknown person threatened to bump me off if I don’t stop pursuing the case. The person claims to be Rauf’s friend,” she said. Kapoor has alleged in her statement that Rauf had also claimed that he would buy a flat and car for her.

Meanwhile a Times Of India report says that after issuing many denials about his involvement with Mumbai-based model Leena Kapoor, Pakistan’s International Cricket Council (ICC) umpire Asad Rauf, on Wednesday, maintained that the photographs showing the two of them posing together, were indeed real.

However, 56-year-old Rauf continued to maintain that he did not have any relationship with the 21-year-old model from Oshiwara in Mumbai.  However, the photographs sent by the model to the media suggest something totally different. Leena says that there was serious courtship between her and Rauf and the umpire is now lying by calling her just another fan.

“I am 56 and happily married with two kids and at my age how can I promise marriage to anyone else. I don't know why she is doing this but if she continues, I will have to take legal action against her. Her allegations are preposterous and she is concocting stories for cheap publicity and fame,” Rauf was quoted as saying by news agencies on Wednesday.

According to a report in The DNA, Rauf, who is in the eye of a ‘sexual’ storm, has said his lawyers will deal with the allegations levelled against him by a Mumbai-based model. Speaking to DNA from Lahore on Wednesday, the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) elite panel umpire said he is not afraid of coming to India. “Whenever professional requirements arise, I will be there in India. I have no fears,” Rauf told this paper, while refuting the possibility of him being caught in legal complications in case he travelled to this country. In an international career spanning 12 years, Rauf officiated in five Tests and 10 ODIs in India. Besides, he is a regular feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having stood in about 37 matches.
