2nd Round of 2017 RBS 6 Nations to kick-off on Saturday; defending champions England to face Wales in Cardiff

New Delhi: The opening match of the second round of the 2017 RBS 6 Nations championship will start from Saturday, 11th February, where defending champion England will take on four-time champion Wales at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Rob Howley-led England currently sit top of the table following their 33-7 victory over Italy last weekend. In another match of the day, three-time champion Ireland will face Italy in Rome.

Both England and Wales started their campaigns with win by beating five-time champion France and Italy respectively. The Red and Whites have advantage against Wales as the former defeated them by 25-21 at the 2016 Six Nations Championship. However, the home team can repeat the history of 2015 Rugby World Cup match when The Dragons stunned England by 28-25, which paved the way for their neighbour’s early exit.

Ireland will hit the road to Rome to face Italy with both sides looking for a first victory after disappointments last weekend. The match will be held at Stadio Olimpico, which hosted 1960 Olympics and Italy managed its maiden Six Nations victory over Ireland in 2013. Last Sunday, Italy went down at home to Wales, while Ireland lost to Scotland 27-22 at Murrayfield. Both The Shamrocks and Azzurris are at bottom of the points-table with one point and none respectively.

DSPORT will telecast the matches LIVE at 7:45 pm - Italy vs Ireland and 10:15 pm – Wales vs England.
