SER organises All India Railways Women Kabaddi Championship

Kabbadi WomenKolkata: The 40th All India Railways Women Kabaddi Championship 2016-17 under aegis of South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA) was inaugurated at Majherhat Railway Sports Complex, Kolkata on Monday.

Anirban Datta, Addl. General Manager, S E Railway graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the championship which will continue upto October 5, 2016.

The Women Kabaddi Championship will be played amongst eight zonal railways. The participating zonal railways are Central Railway, Western Railway, Northern Railway, East Coast Railway, Eastern Railway, South Central Railway, East Central Railway and the host South Eastern Railway.

As many as 108 kabaddi players, including five Arjuna awardees are participating in this championship. The final will be played on October 5.

The first game played between South Eastern Railway and East Central Railway and South Eastern Railway crushed East Central Railway 31-19.
