Hyderabad: Telugu Titans crashed to their third successive defeat as Patna Pirates mounted a superb comeback to down them 35-33. Star raider Pradeep Narwal scored 11 points as Patna Pirates remained unbeaten in the fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. Telugu Titans’ skipper Rahul Chaudhari had an outstanding game as scored 11 points but his effort went in vain as they crashed to yet another defeat.
Telugu Titans remain rooted at the foot of the table with three points from three games whereas Patna Pirates climbed to second spot with 15 points from three games.
It was a cautious start from both teams and they began with four empty raids. Patna Pirates scored the first defensive and raid point in the third minute to take 2-0 lead whereas Telugu Titans had to wait for five minutes to open their account. Star raider PardeepNarwal scored two raid points as Patna led 5-2 after seven minutes. Telugu Titans skipper Rahul Chaudhari opened his account in the ninth minute.PardeepNarwal scored two more raid points to give Patna Pirates a three-point lead after 10 minutes in the match.
Rahul Chaudhari and Sandeep Narwal scored two raid points each as Telugu Titans tied the game at 8-8 in the 12th minute. Patna responded immediately through PardeepNarwal with two raid points. Telugu Titans seized the opportunity to send PardeepNarwal on the bench as they led 13-10 in the 16th minute. They then followed it up with an all-out to lead 16-11 in the next minute. Rahul Chaudhari scored seven points in the first half to give his team a six-point lead at half time with the score 19-13.
With less than 15 minutes left on the clock, Rahul Chaudhariscored his eighth and the Titans led 22-16. Patna Pirates forced a super tackle in the 27thminute and crucially revived PardeepNarwal as they trailed 18-23. Four minutes later, they Patna Pirates forced another super tackle to cut the deficit to three points.
Backed by a vociferous home support, Telugu Titans inflicted a second all out in the 23rd minute as Telugu Titans led 30-21. With less than five minutes to go, Telugu Titans forced a super tackle to lead 32-25. Patna Pirates, however, forced inflicted the first all out in the 37th minute to make it a two-point game as they trailed 31-33. Rajesh Mondal scored three raid points in two minutes as Patna Pirates lead 34-33. A hushed silence fell over the stadium as Patna Pirates came back to win 35-33 in a nail-biting finish.
