New Delhi: The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) will hold a open selection trials -cum - coaching camp from tomorrow (Friday, December 9) morning 10.00 AM onwards at CWG Village Sports Complex, Akshardham to select the Delhi Sub- Junior team for National Football Championship-2016-17, North Zone Qualification round scheduled to be held at Varanasi in Uttra Pradesh from December 27 to January 1, 2017.
The DSA has constituted a selection committee with Nagender Singh as chairman, Hafiz Shahid as convenor.
AFC ' A ' licence holder Uttam Nagi has been named as chief coach who will be assisted by Assistant coach Shabir Ali. The eight participating teams dived in two preliminary groups namely hosts-Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachsal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir ( group- A while Chandigarh, Delhi. Punjab and Uttrakhand (group- B ) figure in the competition. The two teams from each five zones will qualify for the final zone, the venue of which will be decided later on.
All the participating players are to be registered with All India Football Federation through CRS (Central Registration System) and CMS (Competition Management System) latest by December 15. Players born on or after 1st January, 20003 and not later than 31st December, 2003 are eligible to participate in the championship.
Hosts Uttar Pradesh open their campaign against Himachal Pradesh followed by Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir on December 27 in the inaugural matches of the competition. Delhi open their campaign against Chandigarh on December 28.
