Chandigarh: The 5th Tricity Amateur / Junior Golf Championship will be conducted at the ATS Golf Course, Derabassi on November 20. The idea behind this championship is to give tournament exposure to amateurs and juniors aspiring to become future champions.

Amateurs of all age groups and juniors below the age of 18 years from the Tricity, Punjab, Delhi/NCR region can enroll and compete for the top honours in each category. There are five categories for juniors: Category A (under 18 years), Category B (under 15 years), Category C (under 13 years), Category D (under 11 years) and Category E (under 9 years). The amateur category is open to all age groups, including ladies so that each golfer is able to compete in his/her own category and gain tournament exposure for the overall betterment of his/her game.

The junior categories D and E will play 9-holes only whereas the rest of the field will play 18-holes. The junior entries will be restricted to 36 only whereas amateur entries will be restricted to 24 only. This championship will be played on a Gross format in both the amateur as well as the five junior categories and there will be prizes for the winner, runners-up, second runners-up, in each category for boys and girls.

In addition to this there will be a Nearest-to-Pin prize in each category for boys & girls and prizes for maximum number of pars in each category (boys & girls common).

This is bound to be an exciting competition as it will feature a wide variety of age groups and different skill levels of golf enthusiasts from all over North India.
