Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament: Fatehgarh Sahib school to meet Kiddy’s Corner Gwalior in final

Hockey 26New Delhi: Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh Senior Secondary Public School, Fatehgarh Sahib beat Lallengvunga School, Thenzawl (Mizoram) by 5-3 penalty shoot-out in the first semi final of the 23rd Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament being played at Shivaji Stadium in New Delhi, on Tuesday.

The goals were scored in the 59th and 64th minute of the match by Fatehgarh Sahib School. The goal scorers of the match were Gurleen Grewal, and Reet, respectively. Lalrambeisai and Lalremsaini scored the lone goal in 34th and 47th minute of the match for Mizoram.

Fatehgarh Sahib School took the lead in shoot-out score by Gurleen Grewal, Rampreet Kaur and Priyanka while Marina Lalremghaki scored the lone goal for Mizoram in shoot out.

In the second semi final match, Kiddy’s Corner Higher Senior Secondary School, Gwalior beat S S Girls high School Simdega (Jharkhand) by 2-1. Seema Verma and Sneha Singh scored the goals for Kiddy’s Corner in the 8th and 20th minute, while Pinki Ekka scored the sole goal in 34th minute for S S Girls High School Simdega.

Fatehgarh Sahib School will pay with Kiddy’s Corner Higher Senior Secondary School, Gwalior in the final match on Thursday.
