New Delhi: NCC Directorate (NCC) beat Punjab Public School, Patiala by 4-1 in a one-sided match in 23rd Nehru Girls Hockey Tournament being played at Shivaji Stadium in New Delhi, on Wednesday.

The goals were scored at regular intervals in the 7th, 9th, 42nd and 69th minute of the match by NCC. The goal scorers of the match were Neeru Kumari, Rajandeep Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur and Madhu Bala, respectively. Chavi Bansal scored a single goal in 56th minute of the match for Patiala.

In the second match, ST. Anthony’s High School, Bardez beat Career Residential Charangpat, Thoubal by 3-2. A hat- trick was scored by Geeta Rathod in the 22nd, 31st and 46th minute of the match, respectively, while Carrer School scored two goals through Julia Barretto and Sejal Parsekar in 8th and 58th minute of the match, respectively.

In the third match played on Wednesday, Krida Prabodhni, Pune crushed Adarsh Kanya Higher Secondary School, Durg in a one-sided match by 16-0. The goals were scored by Pooja Shendage (6th, 19th, 28th, 52nd), Ankita Sapate (10th ), Akshata Dhekale (15th 23rd, 54th,62nd, 69th ), Rutuja Pisal (32nd ), Bhagyashri Tangle (36th ), Kajal Aatpadkar (39th), Vaishnavi Pralake (43rd ,49th )and Vaishali Lanjewar (41st ), while the team from Durg failed to strike the board.

In the fourth match, Tika Ram Senior Secondary School, Sonepat thrashed Arya Girls Public School, Panipat by 15-0. Dimple, Antim, Komal, Sharmila, Mahima, Aarti, Deeepika, Manju and Preeti were the goal scorers for Tika Ram School.

In the fifth match, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Sr Sec School, Tarn Taran beat Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Vijay Enclave, Delhi in another one-sided match by 16-0. The goal scorers for Arjan Dev School were Baljit, Pooja, Sukhjit, Suman and Mitali.

St Anthony School, BARDEZ, Krida Prabodhni, PUNE and Tika Ram Senior Secondary School, Sonepat qualified for the second round of the tournament.
