Ajay wins 2nd Tricity Junior Golf Championship in boys’ Category A

2nd Tricity Junior Golf TournamentPanchkula: The second Tricity Junior Golf Championship was played at the Panchkula Golf Club, here Sunday. More than 40 juniors participated on a hot and humid day which made playing conditions extremely long and difficult on the picturesque fairways of Panchkula Golf Club.

In Category A (Boys), Ajay won by shooting the best score of the day, while Ankush came runners-up and Rajesh was second runners-up position. In Category A (Girls), Lakhmehar Pardesi won by scoring the lowest.

In Category B (Boys), Yuvraj Hara took the pole position, while Abhishek Kohli finished runners-up and Janish Jeev Singh was second-runner up.

In category C (Boys), Aditya Sood was declared the winner and Fatehbir Kahlon was the runners-up.

Vasu Sehgal was the champion in Category D (Boys) with Samarveer finishing second and Gurpreet Minhas coming second runners-up. Jivtesh Kaur Gill won in Category D (Girls), while Bhuvika Bhise finished runners-up.

Category E (Boys) had Krish Chawla as the winner, Jai Gupta as the runners-up and Virenpratap the second runners-up. Yogyata Modi won the Category E (Girls), leaving Mahika in the second position, while Sudheeksha was the second runners-up.

Meanwhile, Vikrum Jolly, a parent, got 90 tee markers made at his own cost and donated them to the organizers of this tournament so that the playing distances of each hole in Category C,D & E, became approximately according to what a number of children's golf tours Internationally have while conducting their tournaments.

The Management of Panchkula Golf Club was extremely supportive and encouraging towards the children and parents. Col. AS Dhillon, General Manager of PGC announced in the prize distribution ceremony that Coach Ajay Gujral and Manjit Kochar will be encouraged to conduct such tournaments on a regular basis at the club premises to continue promoting golf in the region.
