Three Delhi players selected for 9th Asian Wushu Championship

New Delhi: World Cup gold medalist and World bronze medalist Santosh Kumar; World silver medalist Pooja Kadian and 22-year-old Sajan Lama of Delhi have been selected in Indian Wushu team for the 9th Asian Wushu Championship, Teoyan, Taiwan from September 1 to 5.

The Indian Wushu team left for Taiwan to participate in the championship on Monday. The Indian Team Won 10 medals including one silver and 9 bronze medals in the pervious Asian Wushu Championship held at Ho Chi Minh City in year 2012. Santosh Kumar had won silver medal then.

The Delhi Wushu players have been doing well doing well in the junior team as well as four Delhi junior wushu players -- Rohit Sharma, Shashi Tamang, Sajan Thapa and Regina Tamang – have been practicing under National team coach Rajvir Singh of Delhi at the undergoing national coaching camp at Bhopal for the 6th Junior World Wushu Championship to be held at Burgas, Bulgaria from October 26.
