Jash Modi wins gold in Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament

Jash ModiMumbai: Jash A Modi won the gold medal in Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament held at Symbiosis Sports Centre, Pune from June 2 to June 6.

Jash Modi (10) On his way to semi-final defeated Havish Asrani 3/0 (11/5,11/5 & 11/8). Havish was last year’s state champion in midget boys category. In finals Rajveer shah, who was also last year’s state champion lost to Jash Modi with set score of 3/2 (9/11,11/9,11/8, 11/7 & 11/8).

Jash is currently India No. 5 and only maharashtra player to reach top 10 in India in Cadet Boys (U/12) age group. In 2015, Jash started playing at national level.

Jash, a Mumbai player representing Mumbai suburban district, started playing table tennis three years ago and is a Class 6 student in Kapol Vidyanidhi International School. His coach and father Amit Modi is a general secretary of Mumbai Suburban District Table Tennis Association.

Jash was also the winner of MSSA Inter-School Table Tennis Championship in 2014.
