‘Harmeet Kahlon Summer Golf Camps’ to be held in Chandigarh and Mohali from May 21

Chandigarh/Mohali: Children of Chandigarh and Mohali have a chance to learn golf from an International golfer at the “ Harmeet Kahlon - Summer Golf Camps ” to be held at both Chandigarh Golf Club, Sector 6, Chandigarh and Mohali Golf Range, Sector 65 , SAS Nagar from May 21 onwards, with batches starting ever fortnight till July.

The major attraction of the 11-day camps is that children and parents will not have to travel far and can participate in both Chandigarh and Mohali thereby saving both time and fuel everyday. Membership of golf clubs will not be a hinderance as the “Harmeet Kahlon - Summer Golf Camps” are Open to non members also.

Participants will not have to buy any expensive equipment as all golf equipment , as balls, coaching fees , club fees and SAM Putt Lab will be included . The camps will be conducted by Arjuna Awardee Harmeet Kahlon and by other experienced and qualified coaches under his curriculum and guidance by Preetinder Kaur, Chitwan Mann , Col Harinder Singh, Rajiv Kumar, Akshay Sharma and Sushil Kumar .

Harmeet Kahlon, Director, Chandigarh Golf Club Academy and Director , Mohali Golf Range said, “As Golf is now an Olympic sport once again after over 100 years at this years 2016 Rio Olympic Games, we would like to widen the pool of young golfers who will in the future hopefully represent India in the Olympics and Asian Games like Anirban Laihiri and SSP Chowrasia this year .Their Olympic debut of these two Indians should encourage youngsters to pick up the sport at a reasonable cost and near to their homes.

“In the last, 1 year I have taught about 150 new players at Mohali and Chandigarh and aim to further increase this number going ahead. I have has also conducted the senior citizens free golf coaching programme at Chandigarh Golf Club , held a golf orientation for the 500 New Members in and Inaugurated a Par -2 Golf Course within the Mohali Golf Range ,hosted the Castle Sports Open Golf Tournament, held a Rules and Etiquette Clinic ​and Independence Day Golf Competition ​.We have also tied up with a leading School of the City to promote Golf in the City Schools.”

As part of the curriculum at the end of the 11-day camp, capable participants will also be taken to “ Play on the Golf Course” at Chandigarh or Mohali Golf Range thereby giving the beginners a feel of playing on the course . A putting Competition will also be organised during the camp and Summer Golf Camp Participation Certificates will also be given to all the participants. The Asian Tour Winner added that the Golf Camps will consist of golf instructions in both groups and individual sessions with separate batches for beginners and advanced children (both boys and girls) and adults.

The 10 session packages start from Rs 2,670 upto Rs 8,500 depending on the venue and choice of coach and will cover golf orientation, warm up, hitting, putting, chipping, bunker play etc both morning and evening timings will be available. Registration can be done on 98760-70841 .
