Kharagpur Division (Open Line) defeated Ranchi Division by 40 runs in the Inter Divisional Cricket Championship 2015-16 Final organised by South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA) at SERSA Cricket Ground, Garden Reach today (15.01.2016). In the stipulated 30 overs, Kharagpur Division (Open Line) scored 242 runs while Ranchi division scored 202 runs. Altogether, four divisions namely Kharagpur (Open Line), Ranchi, Chakradharpur, Adra and Kharagpur Workshop participated in the championship. The cricket championship was held from 12th to 15th January, 2016.

Shri A.K.Goel, General Manager, South Eastern Railway and Chief Patron, SERSA gave away the prizes to the winning team Kharagpur Division (Open Line) and the Runners Up team Ranchi Division. Debopam Biswas of Kharagpur(Open Line) was declared Man of The Match in the Finals. S.R.Sinha of Ranchi division scored the highest run (112) in the tournament while the highest wicket taker was Gurjit Singh of Ranchi Division (8 wickets).

The Ranji Trophy players seen in action in the Inter Divisional Cricket Champonship were S.P.Goutam (Jharkhand), Prakash Sheet (Jharkhand), Amit Das (Odisha), Kuldeep Sharma (Jharkhand), Amit Banerjee (Bengal), Bheema Rao (Indian Railways) and S.R.Sinha (Jharkhand).
