ICC Test Rankings: Ashwin remains top all-rounder; no Indian batsman in top 10

ICC Test Rankings - R Ashwin top all-rounderIndian off-spinner R Ashwin, who took 31 wickets in four test matches in series between India and South Africa recently holds top all rounder position in latest ICC Test Rankings.  Ashwin has also held on to his second spot in the bowling list led by South Africa's pace spearhead Dale Steyn.

However, no Indian found a place in the top-10 of batsmen's rankings even though Ashwin (2nd) and Jadeja (7th) represented the country in the bowlers' list.

Left-arm spinner Jadeja, who picked 23 wickets in four Tests against South Africa, is the only other Indian bowler in the top-10 list.

India maintans 2nd positon in ICC Test Team ranking with 110 points while South Africa stays on top with 114 points.

Root and de Villiers, along with Australia’s fourth-ranked Steven Smith and fifth-ranked David Warner, will go into the Boxing Day Tests aiming to finish the year as the number-one ranked Test batsman. Root and de Villiers trail Williamson by three and eight points, respectively, while Smith is 15 points and Warner 26 points behind the New Zealander.

The ICC Test Championship table will now be updated at the end of Australia-West Indies series, while the player rankings will be updated at the conclusion of the Boxing Day Tests.
