Delhi beat Haryana, Punjab defeat HPCA in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Chandigarh/Patiala: Delhi beat Haryana U-19 by six wickets, while Punjab got the better of HPCA by 109 runs in the Vinod Mankad Trophy on Saturday.
Batting first, Haryana were bowled out for 185 in 49.3 overs. TP Bali 30 off 31 balls with six boundaries and SG Rohilla 51 off 84 balls with two boundaries and SD Dhull unbeaten 50 off 71 balls with six boundaries were the main run getters for Haryana.

Haryana innings witnessed the opening partnership of 42 runs between Bali and AA Bhama while SG Rohilla and SD Dhull had a partnership of 77 runs for the 7th wicket.



For Delhi left arm spinner Yogesh Sharma bowled a tantalizing length to capture five wickets for 23 runs and he was ably supported by Sumit Mathur, the other left arm spinner who got 2 for 28.

Replying Delhi scored 186 runs for 4 in 34 overs to record a 6 wicket win with 16 overs to spare. Delhi logged four points while Haryana got zero.

Meanwhile, Punjab scored 257 for 8 in the allotted 50 overs. Punjab had an early set back when their star batsman Shubman Gill was caught by RC Singh off N.A. Sharma with teams total reading 7. Then Karan Sharma and Sanvir Singh added 45 runs for the second wicket before Karan was caught by NK Kanwar off AS Jamwal for 28.

Thereafter, skipper Anmolpreet Singh joined Sanveer Singh and the two put on 69 runs for the third wicket before Sanveer Singh was caught by SG Arora off CS Malhotra for 53 off 91 balls with eight boundaries. Anmolpreet Singh went on to score 69 off 74 balls. For Himachal AS Jamwal 2 for 28, MJ Dagar 2 for 54 and CS

Malhotra 2 for 70 shared the spoils.

Replying HPCA were bowled out for 148 in 45 overs.
