New Delhi: Jay Tanwar’s lethal bowling helped Ramjas School No. 2, Anand Parbat beat Gyan Mandir Public School, Naraina Vihar by eight wickets in a Group G league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 inter-school tournament, played at Ramjas Sports Complex, Patel Nagar today.
Gyan Mandir Public School won the toss and opted to bat first. However, they failed to materialise the opportunity and the whole team were bowled-out at 106 in 30 overs. Jay spearheaded the bowling attack with his six-wicket haul to rattle the opponents’ batting line-up. Only Sarthak Rawal showed some resistance with his gutsy knock of 50.
Batting second, Ramjas School No. 2 achieved the target in just 21 overs after losing two wickets. Deepak Kaushik led the batting line-up with his spectacular knock of 69 runs and remained unbeaten.
Jay was adjudged Man-of-the Match for his bowling performance.

Match 2: In a Group H league match, St. Xavier’s School, Rohini defeated Ryan International School, Rohini by 3 wickets, played at St. Xavier’s School ground in Shahbad Daulatpur yesterday.
St. Xavier’s School won the toss and chose to bat first. They faced deadly bowling attack from the oppositions, spearheaded by Shivam whose four-wicket haul destabilise the batting line-up. From the other end, Saurabh Nagpal claimed two wickets. However, St. Xavier’s School, with the help of Kartik Rana (34), Bhupender Singh (26) and Aditya Jain (23 not out), managed to score 118 runs for eight wickets in 30 overs.
While chasing, Ryan International School chased down the target after losing seven wickets. Ankit Gera (20) and all-rounder Saurabh (13) led the team to achieve the target in 28.3 overs. The opponents also helped the victorious team by giving away 30 runs in extras.
Shivam was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his bowling performance.
