Chandigarh: The third edition of the World Kabaddi Cup would be hosted by Punjab from December 1 to 15. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here on Thursday by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka, Industries and Commerce Minister Anil Joshi and MLA and former Indian hockey team captain Padam Shree Pargat Singh were among those present at the meeting.
Badal said the Punjab government was committed to promote kabaddi at the international level for making a strong plea for its inclusion in the Olympics. He said this 15-day kabaddi extravaganza would be a memorable treat for kabaddi lovers, as the league matches would be held at different places throughout the state.
