Delhi hosts Table Tennis Training Clinic

New Delhi: A joint initiative taken by Manav Rachna Sports Academy and Stag Table Tennis has organised a three day Table Tennis Training Clinic under the guidance of five times World Champion and six times European Champion Peter Karlsson at the Manav Rachna Sports academy. The clinic was organised from 8th July to 10th July 2012 at Manav Rachna Sports Academy.

Thirty five young table tennis players from all over the country took part in this three day special training clinic. It was a wonderful and rare opportunity for table tennis players to hone their sporting skills under his guidance.

Explaining the technicalities of the game and briefing the aspirants about the real life pressures he urged them to inculcate qualities required to become a good sportsman. He gave real life cases and strategies that can be encountered during the tournaments.

He also pointed out the difference between a champion and an average player and said it depended on childhood and environment. Personality of an individual was also important and the ability to interact with others, creativity and the ability to analyze different situations.

During the Table Tennis Training Clinic he expressed his view that, “For me sport is not only winning or losing. Sport gives everyone a fantastic education from which they can benefit all their life. They can use this "sport education" in school, business and in any other work. Research has also shown that physical exercising gives you better results in studies, work and infact in your whole life.”
