Chennai: A  58th minute goal by Len Aiyappa helped Air India beat Punjab National Bank(PNB) in an Ozone Group Super Division National-level hockey league match at the KSHA Stadium in Bangalore on Thursday.

Scores were level at one point with both the teams scoring two goals each and it was tough to imagine that who is going to win, meanwhile Aiyappa clinched a goal at 58th minute to take his team to the victory.

While in another match, ONGC defeated determined Army Red by a margin of 6-4. It was a tough match for both the sides as both were playing well but early lead maintained pressure on Army Red. At a moment both the teams were on the same score but Mandeep Antil (55th) and Ramandeep Singh, with his third goal in the 61st minute sealed the game for ONGC.

ONGC 6 (Jayanta, Ramandeep Singh 3, Gagandeep Singh, Mandeep Singh) bt Army Red 4 (Jerome Kujur 2, Chitranjan Singh, Santial Mundu).
