Panchkula: Kartik and Divanshi lifted the boys (u-15) and girls (u-15) categories respectively in the Panchkula District Ranking Badminton Championship being held in Tau Devi Lal Stadium at sector 3, Chandigarh on Sunday.

Kartik won the boys (u-15) category by beating Shubam in a one sided affair. He finished the match in straight sets (21-15, 21-17). But, in the girls (u-15) category, Divanshi had to face some tough challenge from Muskan, before winning the match in three sets (21-18, 19-21, 22-20). In the other finals, Himanshi defeated Ayushi in straight sets to win the girls (u-10) category and Arush Datta just thrashed Vansh by 21-12, 21-13 to lift the boy’s u-10 title. In the u-13 categories, Annusharaf won the boys title, while Chavi overcame a close contest against Rashi.

She managed to win the match by 21-17, 16-21, 21-18 in 3 sets. But it was a different story altogether in the Boys final (u-13) where Annusharaf had completed the proceedings in style with a straight set victory over his opponent Divesh Mittal by 21-18 and 21-17.
