Patiala: Indian weightlifters took over the house by fire in the 1st South Asian Men and Women Weightlifting Championships on the final day by winning as many as 8 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.

India has so far fielded 10 weightlifters comprising of 6 Men and 4 women athletes for this championship. All athletes won medals during 1st SAF Championships at Nepalgunj,Nepal.
