Australia defeat Indian Eves to lead 2-1

Visakhapatnam: Australia proceeded to an eight-wicket win over India in the second Twenty20 match to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series on Monday.

The only bright phase for the host was the breezy start provided by Amita Sharma in the company of captain Anjum Chopra when 35 runs came off the first five overs. But after Amita (28, 16b, 5x4) was run-out, India's run-rate dropped drastically and the team ended up with 111 for three.

Anjum made 33 (2x4, 51b) and added 43 for the second wicket with Mithali Raj (18, 30b). The third match in the series will be played on Wednesday after a day's rest.
