Messi’s move on the field is a treat to watch

Lionel MessiFootball is all about the superhuman Argentine-born eminent player Lionel Andres Messi.

His every move seems hypothetical. He is certainly the greatest of all the footballers of all times. He has been shocking one and all since the time he started playing football at a very tender age of 5. Incredible! Who’s the one who became the only one to play for five different teams? Who’s the one who started to play for junior system ranks but then played a league very soon against Espanyol? No one other than Lionel Messi! There’s so much more to this list of one and only achievements where each one can shout aloud and say “Messi”.

It seriously beggars description to tell how good Messi is. He was also entitled as ‘Messidona” because his moves for scoring goals are akin to Maradona’s. He idolises Diego Maradona, retired Argentine professional footballer who himself says that Messi is Maradna -- the only player who will inherit his place and he is a genius.

His fans are often seen quoting great words for him.

They do say that there are many players whom they admire but with Messi, it’s different because every time he plays on the field, he shocks his fans and compels them to question if that move he just made is humanly possible. Arda Turan, the famous professional footballer, calls Messi a miracle from God. He admits that he has never seen anybody like him. This is not just his reaction but of almost everyone who see him playing.

FC Barcelona forward Neymar revealed once that at the point when Messi was about to score a hat-trick, he gave Neymar a chance to kick a penalty. What a gesture from a great player! Neymar is grateful to him and believes that Messi is the best person without a doubt. There’s so much to learn from such a great person. This episode depicts that Messi not just possesses an ocean of talent, but magnanimity too.

Everytime he plays, he smashes world records into smithereens. He shattered the record for all-time goalscorer in La Liga: 253 goals in 289 matches. With this, he became the first player to score more than 20 goals in seven consecutive seasons in La Liga (2008-09 and 2011-12) where he scored a total of 50 goals which are achieved by no one before. He has set the record of having longest scoring run ever in La-Liga. He was named FIFA's world player of the year five times. He became the only one to have won four Ballon D'or awards. Great players like Ronaldo, Zinedine and Cruyff could manage only three wins.

This is not all. His startling achievements can make anyone's jaw drop. He plays like a magic on the field.

He is immensely loved for his finishing, his amazing pace, his untenable dribbling, vision and passing ability. There's something about him which makes his case stronger than anyone else. When it comes to dribbling, he is a lord of all, he is unstoppable, irresistible and undeniable. Ah! What sheer felicity it is to see him on the field. With his astonishing dribbling skills, he can beat a number of defenders at once. His magnetic control of the ball is so awe-inspiring that he can go inside, outside or through the legs of a defender. For his defenders, he might a holy mess for his unsuccessful defenders but for the audience, he is a treat to watch.

Unlike other great players like Ronaldo, Messi is one-sided player, who almost never uses his right foot once he reaches full speed.

Messi, many a times called the football god, has eclipsed each of his rivals and bagged every honour - both at team and individual level. It is not just his umpteen number of accolades which makes him unreal but the effortlessness with which he plays on field.

He writes that there’s something deep in his character which allows him to take the hits and get on with trying to win.”

There is no greater joy than to see him on field.
