Transfer ban for Real Madrid : A blessing in disguise ?

Cristiano RonaldoRecently FIFA uphold the transfer ban on Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, thus barring them from buying any players till January 2018. Inspite of minimal transfer activity in the recent Summer Transfer market, this transfer ban could well turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Real Madrid could utilize this transfer ban to find the perfect balance, it has well been observed that RMA tends to sell some of their top players after a successful campaign (like Ozil to Arsenal, Di Maria to Man United). But this transfer ban limits their capability to sell players as they won't be able to buy replacements. Hence this transfer ban period could well be utilized to find the perfect equilibrium in the team.

Real Madrid have immense bench strength, they have Cristiano Ronlado, Gerath Bale, Lucas Vazquez, Asensio on the wings , Toni Kroos, Modric, Kovacic, Isco in the mid-field, Morata, Benzema as forwards, Danilo, Varane, Marcelo, Nacho, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao in defence and finally Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Yanez as goalkeepers.

Ramos and Pepe are in their thirties while Marcelo and Coentrao will be 30 by the time transfer ban ends and this could turn out to be a good opportunity to turn Varane, Danilo, Nacho, etc. into first time regulars to lead the defence. Even though Ronaldo continues to score goals at an impressive rate a time will come when Ronaldo will eventually stop scoring being as effective as he is now. Real Madrid will need to be prepared for that day and young players like Vazquez and Asensio could take up that mantle.

After Casillas, Real Madrid have been dependent on Navas to fill up the goalkeeping position. While Navas has proved to be a reliable GK, Kiko Casilla and Navas are roughly the same age and in another 4-5 years they will have to replaced and a young player like R. Yanez could be developed to take up that mantle.
During this transfer ban, Zidane may just do what Pep did for Barcelona. He can develop players from La Fabrica (Real Madrid's Youth Academy) by rotating them in the first team.

Inspite of having so many positives, there are certainly some negatives like losing out on the buy-back clause of Jese Rodriguez. There are possibilities that they might not be able to sign players when facing an injury crisis. But certainly the virtues outweigh the vices and with Zidane leading the team one can only hope for the best.
