10-men Arsenal manage a draw against Tottenham in an entertaining contest at White Hart Lane

The clash between Tottenham and Arsenal was as lively as ever. The game started off slow, but picked up momentum later. Spurs were looking to go top of the table for at least a few hours, whereas Arsenal were looking to stay on level points with Spurs.

The early kick off on Saturday saw attacking football from both the sides. Spurs started off really well going forward, but Arsenal broke the deadlock in 39th minute with a goal from Aaron Ramsey.

The game was wide open when Francis Coquelin was shown a second yellow just ten minutes into the second half. Spurs used this to their advantage and capitalised with two swift goals, one from Alderweireld in the 60th minute and an absolute cracker from Harry Kane in 62nd minute. Spurs looked to be dominating with an extra man and an extra goal.

Arsenal were giving all they had to try and pull one back. Olivier Giroud was replaced Elneny in the 75th minute to bolster the attacking options; a minute later Sanchez scores a vivid goal to level it for 10-men Arsenal. The game lived up to expectations with a fiery contest and total drama until the very end, however both sides settled for a point each with a 2-2 draw.

The best performance of the game came from Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Ospina. He managed nine saves, including one very crucial save at the goal line. He ensured the Gunners did not miss Petr Cech and that he was someone the team could really on, as and when needed. The big boost for Arsenal came from Alexis Sanchez as he managed to score his first goal since October, taking his season tally to seven.

The best Spurs player was Harry Kane. He scored an absolute blinder in 62nd minute to give Spurs the lead. It was an unexpected shot but he managed to get the ball at the back of the net. This was his 17th goal of the season and his fourth in three games against the Gunners.

The North London Derby managed to live up to the expectations. This fixture always provides goals and is never short of entertainment. It was a very important clash for both sides as it was between 2nd and 3rd spot holders. At the end of the fiery contest, both sides managed to take a well-deserved point each, keeping Arsenal in 3rd. Three points behind Spurs (2nd) with nine games to go.
