Saran Singh to replace injured Lalrindika Ralte

Mumbai: Thangjam Saran Singh will replace Lalrindika Ralte (fondly known as Dika) in the Mumbai City FC squad for the second season of ISL-II due to an ankle injury. Saran Singh, who plays midfield for Salgaocar FC comes in to replace the attacking midfielder - Dika, who was a constant threat to the opposition during the inaugural season of ISL.

Saran Singh who joined Salgaocar FC last year will look to make a mark at Mumbai City FC from the word go. He has also scored the winner for Salgaocar FC in 2014 Durand Cup final. Before Salgaocar FC, he achieved a lot of success playing for Churchill Brothers, winning the I-League – twice, IFA Shield – once, Duran Cup – twice and Indian Federation Cup – once.

Commenting on the announcement, Indranil Das Blah, CEO, Mumbai City FC said, "It's unfortunate to let go of a player of Dika's calibre. He's someone who was with us last season as well and we were looking forward to having him as an integral part of the team. We wish him all the very best and hope he recovers soon."

The 2nd edition of the Hero Indian Super League begins on 3rd October in Chennai. Mumbai City FC will play their first match against FC Pune City at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium, Pune on 5th October.
