Kings XI Punjab (KXI-P) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are ready to take on in a thrilling encounter tonight at Jaipur and would be looking to come up with some quality pace bowling against each other especially after losing their previous matches quite badly. KXI-P would like to see Adam Gilchrist and David Hussey to fire while on the other hand Kevon Cooper and S Sreesanth would be waiting to get rid of this dangerous pair as soon as possible. Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane are in brilliant form and would be looking to cash in this opportunity against the likes of Piyush Chawla and Ryan Harris who went wicket-less in last match.
Here we bring to you the players to watch out for from the match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXI-P).
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Rahul Dravid: Dravid has been in spectacular form this season and with good runs under his belt, he would be looking for making it one more run-fest for his side. His captaincy has played a crucial role in their winning those close matches.
Kevon Cooper: He is the cog in the wheel and is expected to come up with much better performance at Jaipur. His ability to bowl Yorkers at death overs makes him a much-needed bowler in the playing eleven.
Brad Hodge: Hodge has to bat up the order because he can hold the one end till the final over which can be really handy. He has been very crucial for taking his team to those decent totals. He is the trump card for RR in this match.
S Sreesanth: He was very expensive in the last match but he can dismantle any batting line up with his raw pace and his ability to swing the ball both ways makes him a great asset for his team. He would be looking for making a bigger impact in this exciting affair.
Ajinkya Rahane: Rahane has batted very sensibly in this edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). He has looked in a brand new avatar when he has shared the ends with Rahul Dravid. He has architected his innings very well to make him look much more fruitful for his team.
Kings XI Punjab (KXI-P)
Adam Gilchrist: Gilchrist has not fired till yet and his captaincy is under scanner after the defeat against Chennai Super Kings. He needs to fire at the start of the innings because he has that ability to take the game away from the opposition. He needs to make some much more sensible bowling changes so that he can get the breakthroughs at regular intervals.
Piyush Chawla: Chawla did exceedingly well in the last match as he gave away just 21 runs in his four overs. He can deceive any batsmen with his googly and wrong-ones but he needs a good bowling support from the other end too.
David Hussey: Hussey played a scintillating knock of 41 runs off just 36 balls. His knock ensured that Punjab won’t let go this match that easy and his partnership of 56 runs with Gurkeerat Singh took them to a respectable total of 138 runs.
Ryan Harris: Harris wasn’t looking in great touch and was bowling some inconsistent line and length. His under-par performance hurt Punjab very badly but a fresh wicket of Jaipur can give him some assistance to his bowling style and Gilchrist can expect him to do much better than last time.
Gurkeerat Singh: Gurkeerat played brilliantly against CSK of 31 runs. He showed he can live up to the occasion but he needs a good start from the top-order to make the optimum use of his batting skills. His ability to hold on one end can be a real asset as David Hussey can start his counter attack without wasting much time.
