Jaipur: After drubbing Delhi Daredevils by nine wickets and 13 balls to spare at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid was in all praise for Ajinkya Rahane who wenet on to score an unbeaten 63 runs.
Dravid said that Rahane batted beautifully. “Rahane has been batting beautifully and has reacted very well to being dropped from the Champions Trophy. So far, it's been working out pretty well for us. We were under pressure with Shane Watson picking up a bit of an injury and Stauart Binny falling down after two overs. In T20 you can't afford to put a price on your wicket,” said Dravid adding jokingly that he picked (Brad) Hogg in the last match as he didn't want to be the oldest payer in the team.
“And this time it was Tambe. What a story it is for him," said Dravid.
Ajinkya Rahane, who was adjudged the Man of the Match, said, “I just want to enjoy my batting and that's what I did today. We wanted to play the ball on its merit, take it one ball at a time and we did well to win this game comprehensively."
Meanwhile a disappointed Delhi Daredevils skipper Mahela Jayawardene said, "We made a few mistakes. Rajasthan played some good cricket. We were below par. Everyone's working hard, trying their best but then everyone goes through seasons like that."
