New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils has completely lost the track even before their opening match. DD was already missing the services of Kevin Pietersen and Jesse Ryder but according to sources even Virender Sehwag has been carrying some back-injury because of which he might be ruled out from the opening match of the IPL.
Coach of Delhi Daredevils, Eric Simons, said, "Sehwag is having back spasm and we are having no clue whatsoever when he will be back in the playing eleven. We will have some more inputs on his injury when he will come tomorrow. We are ready to play without Sehwag, it won’t be easy but yes we will have to do well as a team to cover all the glitches that we are facing. Apart from Sehwag, we will also miss our most successful bowler of the fifth season, Morne Morkel who is busy with Titans and will be playing semis for the South-African T20 tournament but he will be back in the squad within a week.”
According to media reports, Delhi Daredevils will also be missing the services of fast bowler Varun Aaron and have roped in Australian left-handed batsman Ben Rohrer. Rohrer is T20 specialist who scored 295 runs with an average of 49 in the recent season of Big Bash for Melbourne Renegades.
