Hyderabad: Crediting the team effort for that astonishing win in the Super Over against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kumar Sangakarra said that it was amazing to see the boys fight till the last.
Sangakarra said, "All credit to the team for the way the fought. We bowled well. If it's Chris (Gayle) and Virat (Kohli) in the super over, you just have to bowl the Yorkers. And special thanks to Cameroon White and Thisara Perera for the way they handled the super over.”
In all praise for Hanuma Vihari, Sangakarra said that he was excellent with the bat. “These two games at home were very good for us. We are hoping to get more good games. Today I came in at no. 5 as there were two Murali's in the opposition," said Sangakarra.
Meanwhile a disappointed Virat Kohli said though it was a great comeback by the boys, they should have got that 27 off 14 in that situation. “We should have pulled off the game there and then, but all credits to the guys. My beard is greying (because of these thrillers). We should have fielded better. We should have saved those ones and twos here and there," said the RCB skipper.
Hanuma Vihari, who was given the man-of-match award, said that he was quite happy to play his first match of IPL. "The last five years I have been watching IPL on TV and this is my first IPL as player. I am very happy. When I was bowling to Gayle, I just thought that I had nothing to lose and that if I get a wicket that would be a bonus. I have been playing cricket since I was nine and this is the biggest day for me," said the youngster.
