Mumbai vs Delhi: Players to watch out for from Match No.10

ddversusmumbaiindiansMumbai Indians will take on Delhi Daredevils in the ninth match of the Indian Premier League at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbaion Tuesday. With the presence of big-match winner in the likes of Lasith Malinga and Keiron Pollard, Mumbai look to be on the stronger side but pace battery of Delhi led by Umesh Yadav has that ability to restrict the opposition to a low total.

Here we bring before you the players who can turn the table for their side.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

Sachin Tendulkar: Tendulkar was furious when he was given leg before wicket in the very first ball that he faced in the previos match. His displeasure was expected as ball was somhow missing the leg-stump. He got a good start against Royal Challengers Bangalore but but ran himself out. It looks he is short of luck in this season so far. But as always Master would be looking to turning the tables and what better venue he can get than the Wankhede Stadium.

Keiron Pollard: Pollard single-handedly won the match for Mumbai Indians and proved it yet again that he is one of the biggest match winners in their squad. His absolute stunning catch that shocked MS Dhoni was the cherry on the ice-cream after his brilliant 57 of 38 balls in the previous match. He blasted four fours and five sixes. He played a pivotal role in defeating Chennai Super kings in their own backyard.

Lasith Malinga: Malinga will be playing his first match of this edition and his quota of four overs will make a huge difference to the total of opposition’s team. With his slinging bowling action, he has always been a dangerous bowler who can change the course of the game in the matter of one or two overs. Malinga has always been the trump-card of Mumbai Indians and this time he will be no different.

Pragyan Ojha: Ojha bowled brilliantly in the last match and picked up couple of wickets to bring his side on the winning tracks. Wickets of Dwayne Bravo and S Badrinath in his two successive overs tilted the balance in Mumbai’s favour. He gave away just 16 runs in his four overs.

Ambati Rayudu: Rayudu has always played an instrumental part in Mumbai Indian’s victory and with Keiron Pollard, he gives that perfect blend which makes this duo a very lethal combo. He hasn't much impressive with the bat and scored just seven runs but a lot better performance is expected from him in this season of Indian Premier League.

Delhi Daredevils (DD)

David Warner: David Warner played a sensible knock in his previous match. Highlight of his innings was the number of singles and doubles he was scoring. Warner is famous for hitting the ball for maximum but he just chose to be quiet in initial phase of his innings. His 77 runs off 58 balls ensured that Delhi Daredevils won’t let that match go off easily. His dismissal just turned the complexion of the game and Rajasthan royals wasted no time in tightening the screws in last nine balls.

Umesh Yadav: Yadav bowled his heart out against Rajasthan Royals and picked up four wickets for just 24 runs. He has worked on his bowling and added that slow ball to his armoury. He disguised the batsmen very beautifully with his slower ones and picked up couple of wickets from that only. He will be a key player for Daredevils when he will bowl on a dusty wicket of Mumbai.

Mahela Jayawardene: He seems to be running short of luck from the past one week. He is an ideal leader and knows how to bounce back when the chips are down. He was looking good in his partnership with Warner but unfortunately he lost his wicket. Credit to his fall of wicket goes to Ajinkya Rahane who took a stunning catch at point and made that a very tough catch look so easy.

Unmukt Chand: Chand needs to learn that rather than throwing his wicket early he should try to play the first 10 overs. He got to a good start in last match and was looking much more aggressive in his approach. He made 23 off just 19 balls. A dynamic player like him can make a huge difference to his side and he should be looking forward to do justice to his expectation.

Shahbaz Nadeem: Nadeem bowled exceptionally well in his last match and picked up a wicket for just 22 runs. His ability to contain the batsmen made his side make a comeback by picking up wickets. On the turning and slow wicket of Mumbai, he can be a real threat for Mumbai Indians.
