Kasprowicz happy with quality of Aussie pace attack

Michael-KasprowiczThough of the opinion that it will be Test of character for the Australian team on the turning pitches in India, former Australian pacer Michael Kasprowicz said that Australia would surely take a cue from England’s success in India and look forward to emulate the same.

“England has shown that if you adapt well then you can easily turn the tables and Australia is also looking forward for the same. One thing for sure that we will find new superstar of cricket from this live wire series,” said Kasprowicz, adding that he was happy with the quality of Aussie pace attack.

“I am highly impressed with the Australian fast bowling unit. Adapting to sub-continent condition is in itself a tough task and applying themselves on the lower, slower wickets will be some serious challenge that Aussies might face over there. Adaptability has always been a crucial factor in sub-continent conditions irrespective of what you are and how good you are as a bowler or batsmen,” said the former pacer, adding that some good performances were expected from new ball bowlers Mitchel Johnson and Peter Siddle as they carry good experience with them.

“Apart from that, bunch of new fast bowlers we have found this season will make Australian pace attack much more lethal especially inclusion of Jackson Bird coming into the side after taking a lot of wickets in our Sheffield Shield competition,” he said.

When questioned on the newbies of Indian cricket, he replied, “India will definitely miss the likes of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman but the guys like Chetashwar Pujara and Virat Kohli have played some fantastic knocks and are looking ready to fill the big boots.”
