Sydney: Australian No. 3 batsmen Ricky Ponting, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket last year, has attracted the highest base price of US 400,000 dollars on the auction list of 101 nominated players. Apart from him there are many Australian, South-African players included who play good amount of T20 cricket on regular basis for international and local teams. Pakistani players do not find their names in the list.

Ponting is joined by the Australian captain Michael Clarke as the only player with a top reserve price of 400,000 pounds for the auction that is going to be held in Chennai on February 3.

Clarke has been slammed over his decision to play in the high-profile Twenty20 tournament which ends on May 26, just a month before Australia`s Ashes tour begins on June 26 with a four-day match against Somerset.

Moises Henriques who was very economical in bowling in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka and Phil Hughes who scored two terrific centuries against Sri Lanka starts with a reserve price of 100,000 dollars.

The Aussie wicket keeper Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell has been roped in at a base price of 200,000 dollars. Maxwell has done some brilliant work in Big Bash League which gave him that kind of jump in early start of his career.
